Claire Davers's College town may be run by vampires but a truce between the living and the dead made things relatively safe. For a while. Now people are turning up dead, a psycho is stalking her and an ancient blooksucker has proposed private mentoring. To what end, Claire will find out. Claire and her friends try to help who's behind all the killing that have been happening and when Claire ends up finding out who it is, it's too late for her because she is the next one to be nearly killed.

Claire's mother has always worried about Claire going to College, so far away from her parents but Claire has been avoiding her mother's phone calls until Claire answers the phone to find out it's her mother. Her mother says to Claire," Claire, oh my goodness, I've been worried sick honey. We've been calling you on your cell for days!" Claire cuts her mother off and says," Mom, I sent you guys an email remember? My cell got lost, I'm still working on getting another one."

Michael said," Captain Obvious hates vampires so much that if somebody steps out of line he documents it." Michael froze, reading the headline, and his mouth was open, then closed it. His face was set like stone and his blue eyes looked stricken. Claire reached over and took the newspaper from Michael's hands, turned it over and read it out, "The New Bloodsucker In Town".

Teen girls would love a story about vampires, people living with vampires. Some humans have a protection contract from the vampires in Morganville.
