book title: Fighting for my life Author: J. J Joseph
2. What is the main idea of the story? (use examples / quotes from the text)
The main idea would be the time Joe hit his wife and how he wants to change. This is the paragraph that is in the book when it happened. "At that moment Jennifer was in the middle of the clothesline, with a towel in front of her and a sleeping bag hanging on the outside of the clothesline, blocking my view of her. All I remember was thinking 'shut up Jennifer. Your not listening to me.' I know I didn't want to punch her, and because she was in the middle of the clothesline and our line was pretty low, I couldn't rush in a pin her down as I had done before. Right down beside me was a spade, so I picked it up and swung it at her through the washing at stomach height . I didn't think I got her so I did it again and Jennifer fell to the ground, I don't know what I was thinking."
3. Discuss a character that created a strong reaction: (use examples / quotes from the text)
I think that Joe created a big reaction, he was abused as a child from his father and watched his mm get beaten all the time. His brother killed him self when was 21. Joe was a very annoying person and he wanted to change his life after he hit his wife, Jennifer, and I think he would be a really great guy now.
4. Something unique and interesting about the story / book for readers to know: (use examples / quotes from the text)
This is a true story that happened in 2006 and it is about one person's whole entire life.
5. Who do you think would enjoy this book and why? (age, gender, interests)
I think anyone who enjoys reading stories that are true or enjoys things to do with how people want to change their life.
